Camping Village Tuscia Tirrenica

TARQUINIA

Small village known in the World for being proof of the etruscan civilization, for that reason Tarquinia belongs to the UNESCO HERITAGE. In the heart of the historical centre you will find Vitelleschi Palace, ancient building belonging to the Renaissance, where is hosted the National Archeological museum . Through a trip back in time, you will discover the etruscan civilization. Don’t miss the chance to visit the etruscan Necropolis of Monterozzi where, in the undreground tombs, you can enjoy fragments of etruscan daily life and their religious believes. Walking through the alleys is really suggestive, with all the ancient buildings and churches surrounded by the medieval wall and high towers raise up to the sky.

CAPALBIO

Typical medieval village, a braiding of alleys that lead you to the Sienese Gate, the Ronda Camminamento, the Saint Nicola’s Pieve, the Aldobrandesca Tower and the Castle.
In the surroundings:
The Tarots Garden, creation of the artist Niki De Saint Phalle that using and assembling different materials created giant female figures that you can walk in. Intense and strong colours with shapes that reminds of the main tarots.
Burano Lake, belonging to the WWF natural oasis, with a surface of 410 where 140 are occupied by the lake.
The Feniglia Dunes Park, divided in 3 areas: the sandy dunes, the pine grove and the lagoon.

VITERBO

Viterbo, cities of Popes with ancient etruscan origins. Walking through the historical centre is like going back in time: aristocratics palaces, beautiful fountains, high towers, churches and cloisters belonging to various eras and the typical medieval district of San Pellegrino. We would like to underline the importance of the Town Hall, the Podestà Palace, Farnese Palace, the Sun Lorenzo Duomo and its square, the Popes Palace and Loggia.
Known as the City of Popes, Viterbo has been the pontificial headquarters instead of Rome, from 1257 to 1281, to avoid upraising and revolts. Several Popes decided to choose it as their abode like Urbano IV, Clemente IV , Gregorio X, Innocenzo V, Adriano V, Giovanni XXI, Niccolò III and Martino IV. The Popes Palace and Loggia real proofs.

CAPRAROLA

Medieval Village not far from the Vico Lake, represents one of the best example of the XVI century city planning . Famous for Farnese Palace, pentagonal building, designed by Antonio Sangallo to resist to any attack. 20 years later Jacopo Barozzi alias the Vignola, restarted the work on commission of another person. A real masterpiece, the room of the world map, where the artists have been inspired by several topics from religion to bmythology, from history to geography.

BOMARZO: THE SACRED FOREST

Know as The Monsters Park, it’s located in Bomarzo and created by Pierfrancesco Orsini. Designed by Pirro Ligorio in 1552, it features a collection of grotesque sculptures realized in volcanic material, with the purpose to amaze people with the fantasy. From local rocks come to life giant animals, mermaids, mythology figures..like for example the 2 Sphinxes that welcome the tourists at the entrance, a giant turtle with a little sculpture of a Nike on top, the leaning house, built up on a big rock to create a natural incline, Echidna, female creature, portrayed with 2 snake tails instead of 2 legs, and one Furia with a dragon tail and wings. An itinerary that will lead you into a fantastic dimension.

LAKE BRACCIANO

Located in Bracciano, the Odescalchi Castle, one of the most beautiful european feudal abodes, union between the civil and military architecture. From the entrance located at the bottom of the east tower, you will go through different rooms like the Isabella Room, the Orsini Room, the Pisanello and the Cesari ones, that in the past times hosted famous celebrities. The castle was built in 1400 by the Orsini Family, but at the end of the XVII century the property moved to the Odescalchi family which is still the owner.
